Claire Maederer began dancing at age 8, focusing on classical ballet, tap, jazz, modern, theater, and more. After training with renowned teachers such as David Howard, Larry and Sarma Rosenthal, Amanda Gardner, Oleg Briansky, and James Wallace, and attending summer programs such as Boston Ballet and Anaheim Ballet, Claire began dancing professionally in Denver with the Dawson Wallace Dance Project. She has since completed teacher trainings with John White in the Vaganova method, as well as the Pulse Teacher Workshop and the Jump Dance Convention Teacher Workshop.
While pursuing her Exercise & Sport Science degree at OSU and acting as Artistic Director at Ballet North West Academy, Claire has completed several trainings with the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, which has led to her interest in physical therapy. Her combined interests of lifetime physical health and the benefits of dance led Claire to start training with David Leventhal, the Director of Dance for PD in Brooklyn.
This is her first year teaching at Oregon Ballet Academy and Claire is very excited to join the OBA family!
